For the last shot of the night at Bella Vie, Cynthia suggested working with the dark for a moody editorial style and editing in black and white. I love the result.

“It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony, and that’s exactly what we wanted,” Cynthia said. “We wanted people that we know we love and love us and are able to pour into us and who are able to journey with us as we start our lives as husband and wife.”
Cynthia is from South Africa and has family in Rwanda. She is hoping to travel with Aaron next year to Kigali for a traditional wedding ceremony.
“It’s a bit tricky for them to come to the states or to be here physically, but we managed to connect with them thanks to the internet and they got to witness the amazing moment where we exchanged vows,” she said.
Representing Cynthia’s family in Africa, her uncle traveled from Atlanta to be at her ceremony on Long Island. Her cousin also spent the day helping to document and share moments with photos and video.
Now that she and Aaron are married, she wants to continue being mindful about how they carry themselves as a couple in their communities and in their families.
“Just thinking and planning our lives together and our future, it just brings me so much joy,” she said.

“The first time I saw the pictures of Bella Vie, I knew this is where I wanted to be,” Cynthia said. “It has a very beautiful background with some water and a bridge, and it’s also an intimate space. I love Italian cuisine and that’s what Bella Vie is known for.”
“My husband is a phenomenal man,” Cynthia said. “He is loving, he’s caring, he’s gentle, but he’s also very sure of himself. He’s very assertive and he has rooted his life in Christ … And the relationship that he has with his family and his friends, it just shows his true character and how genuine and gentle and caring he is.”
In Cynthia’s ring, “C.J.A.” is the inscription. It stands for Cynthia, Jesus, and Aaron.
“Aaron is any mother’s dream son,” Regina said. “Aaron is a beautiful gift to the world. He’s very quiet, very, very quiet. He’s a hard worker, extremely hard worker, very, very smart from a young child. He’s always been highly intelligent. And when he makes a decision, he sticks to that decision. He has just been an absolute joy.”
